‘Owners Choice’ is a well established company, proudly pioneering an exciting concept that dawned on me after having been so actively and closely involved with the inner workings of the Building Management / Care Taking of 2 large Residential and Commercial Developments in Melbourne and more importantly, an integral part of sourcing Contractors and negotiating Service Contracts for both Owners Corporations and Committees of Management of which I also Chaired for over two years.
It’s no secret to those that know me that I’m extremely passionate about anything I’m involved with or care about and ‘Owners Choice’ is definitely NO exception!
The company is called ‘Owners Choice’ because I believe that it is YOU as collective Owners, ‘The Owners Corporation’, who should decide and choose who is to look after your precious investment and ultimately have an input as to what you would be prepared to pay for the services to be rendered and for how long the contract should run.
As we’re all aware, Owners Corporation Fees are ever increasing, regardless of the day’s economic climate. This is largely due to the fact that little or no attention is able to be given in negotiating the best terms and PRICE for a service or product.
My job with ‘Owners Choice’ will be to work for and closely together with Owners Corporations to help them source the best contractors for their building’s specific needs (which is exactly what I have been doing and successfully saving a substantial amount of money for quite some time now) by organising all elements of a detailed Tender process, presenting all submitted Tender proposals together with my professional recommendation to The Committee of Management and then spending much time negotiating with Contractors to ensure the best terms and conditions and most importantly the best $$$ are achieved in order for the Owners Corporation to stick to budget or even better….cut costs without compromising standards and ultimately SAVING money which will ensure that the Owners Corporation fees don’t go rising unnecessarily, as is the case wherever I go and with whomever I speak!
Having worked very closely with Owners Corporation Managers and personally seen their workload and how many hats they are expected to wear on a daily basis, frankly they simply do not have the TIME and to be fair, it is really not in their contractual scope of work to be negotiating contracts or to be finding savings.
Introducing ‘Owners Choice’, specialising in and solely dedicating it’s time and resources to ‘Negotiating Better Solutions’ for Owners Corporations. Whether it be an upcoming renewal of an Elevator Service contract, Embedded Network Agreement, Window Cleaning contract, Installation of CCTV systems or Essential Services and Maintenance issues to name a few, all of these Services along with the Tender and Negotiation process involved can be very daunting for any Committee to conduct given the complexities of all these Services and more to the point what some Contractors would be prepared to charge you if you’re none the wiser. The difference could amount to thousands, as I have so ruthlessly discovered. ‘Owners Choice’ acts as a kind of Watch Dog for Owners Corporations making sure YOU or your MONEY doesnt get taken for a ride.
